Evolution of Fashion.
Fashion has a natural cycle of its own, which is more dependent on market and media forces than seasons or weather. Trends are predicted, recycled, set and followed. Seasons in fashion have shifted, designs are made and sold un-naturally early. You can buy your new winter coat when it's still warm outside and the leaves have yet to change or fall.
Though there are people that have big influence in the world of fashion, it can never be entirely controlled. Styles in fashion have their own life cycle, they go in and out of fashion. Though when they re-emerge evolution is visible. And so, yes, even shoulder pads come back.

Spoiler Alert!!! Drumroll, Please.
And the winner of Project Runway Season 6 is...Mean-a-Irina Shabayeva. Although all three contestants had very unique collections for the final challenge, it was Irina who walked away with $100 000 to start her own line, a fab trip to Paris and an editorial spread in Marie Claire magazine. Despite the mass amounts of black and "the warrior women is not a new character"-Micheal Kors Irina's line was stunning and I thought it did measure up. Her fellow contestants dubbed Shabayeva Mean-a-Irina, will this reputation precede her?

Who Will Measure Up?
Project Runway Season 6 comes to a close this Thursday, when the final three designers Carol Hannah, Irina and Althea show their collections at Bryant Park. The three designers are doing very different collections Carol Hannah is doing a Duke-University-at-night-inspired line, Irina (aka little miss attitude) is incorporating silk-screened New York T-shirts under her Coney-Island -inspired collection, and last but not least my favorite Althea's line is inspired by sci-fi movies. Based on the peeks of the designs in the Finally Part 1 it looks like it will be an exciting show, especially since in the previews it shows Tim Gunn having a pre runway spazz backstage. Who are you gunning for (no pun intended)? To be continued...

How High?
The thigh-high boot, a footwear fixture on nearly every runway and for shizzle the must-have boot of the season. While there were some over the top pairs at Alexander McQueen and Louis Vuitton (pictured above), highly wearable pairs are flooding the stores. As always. finding the best fit, proportion, and look for your own style is key to pulling these babies off. Check out this video from Vogue TV.

Cook to Bang
So I am always looking for new recipe ideas and have found some of my favorites have come from food blogs. Last week I discovered cooktobang with "recipes for seduction" such as Twice Banged Potatoes and Viagra-Melon Soup. Not only did it win first place in the 2009 bloggers choice awards but it is hilarious! So if you are looking for a new recipe or a good laugh it comes highly recommended.
A Dream Come True in 3D
My entire life I have adored Alice in Wonderland, and as a child I watched my VHS as seen on TV 1985 Harry Harris version till it wore out. I just wanted to share my excitement that has been building about this 3D version directed by Tim Burton. One rabbit hole adventure you don't wanna miss!

I choo choo choos you!

Roar fashionistias! Animal print is making quite a splash in more places than just your local zoo. Designer runways have brought focus on the animal prints for the season in not just clothes but also accessories. Not everyone is a brave enough soul to wear a full leopard jumpsuit so little touches are the way to go.
